Your children will continue to die and their children will continue to die in Iraq for a hundred years or even hundreds of years. We have built the world’s largest embassy in Iraq with American taxpayer dollars and our government has no intention of ever leaving. Obama’s announcement that combat operations will end while we leave 50,000 troops in Iraq in the middle of populations that now hate us because of the atrocities our government has committed guarantees that the war will go on.
Our government has murdered over a million innocent Iraqi’s who only wanted to work to support their families, enjoy fun, peaceful lives with their friends, and worship their god. Three million more of the same people were displaced from their homes and had their lives and their families lives destroyed. This is the reality of what has happened in Iraq and it has caused the entire Muslim world to turn against us. The 4,500 American children that our government sent to die there were not sent to protect our country or make Americans safer.
The fighting will now go on for centuries with each Muslim generation being told by their parents about the genocide that our government committed against the Muslim people. Only they will not say that our government did it. They will say that the Americans did it. Generation after generation or Muslim children will grow up hating us when we, too, only wanted to work to provide for our families, share peaceful, fun lives with our communities, and worship our god. Now, our children and their children will continue to die.
Most Americans now know that Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and Powell fabricated intelligence and lied when they said that Saddam had weapons or mass destruction. The truth is that they didn’t think that they were lying. In spite of intelligence reports that said the WMD were not present in Iraq, they knew that the American government had given Saddam biological weapons and helped him set up factories so that he could control Iran. He had used these weapons against a small portion of his own population. Bush and crew did not really care if Saddam had WMD and the notion that he had them was just an excuse. No one know, still, where these weapons are, but rest assured that they are somewhere in the Muslim world and the will reappear at the worst possible time.
The problem with Saddam, as far as or government was concerned was that, after the support that our government had given him as he arose to power, he was not cooperating. He was not pricing his oil in dollars to help hedge our currency and he was not cooperating with the World Bank that wanted to loan him vast amounts of money to build his arsenal and develop his country’s oil resources. Saddam knew that once he took the money that he would end up loosing control of his oil fields to American corporations. If he had done these things, he would still be in power and we would be selling him advanced weapon systems. We would be providing him with billions of taxpayer dollars in foreign aid to help him buy these weapons just like we do in Israel and other Saudi countries. Iran is doing the same things that Saddam did and they are now in our cross hairs.
The announcements by our current administration that this war will end are lies. What we really have is an extenuation of the Bush/Cheney PNAC agenda that calls for a U.S. presence in the Middle East and specifically names Iraq as a desirable location. This is a plan to continue building the American Empire. You will find this on the PNAC website in a document titled Rebuilding America’s Defenses.
America will not restore its foreign policy to one that is sane and moral until American citizens elect their own government instead of allowing one to be forced on them by the corporations and the media that they own. Whatever religion that you choose or choose not to have, you have to know that murdering million of people in order to build an empire is immoral. If you want to elect a moral government, go here.
