With
many of the state governments on the brink
of insolvency, it is time that the
states took back their rights and forced the federal government to
live up to its end of the contract that it entered into with the
states when the Constitution was signed and ratified. The
Constitution provides a peaceful way to do this.
Under
the very First Amendment, the people have the right to petition the
government for redress. Some of the things that the people of any
state in the union might seek retribution for might
include:
-
The
federal government has failed to protect the country’s borders, a
task assigned to the federal government by the Constitution, from an
onslaught of illegal immigration. It has also failed to manage legal
immigration in a manner that is not detrimental to state finances.
This has created a massive population of poor people that the states
cannot support and who are severely taxing social infrastructures to
the point where Citizens’ rights to the pursuit of happiness are
being trampled.
-
The
federal government has implemented illegal regulations that
adversely affect American business having the effect of preventing
the people from enforcing their property rights, which are
guaranteed under the Fourth Amendment, and/or keeping them from
life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
-
The
federal government has illegally seized state public property that
belongs to the people. In doing so, the federal government has again
caused adverse effects to be generated on business and massive
amounts of the people’s wealth to be transferred to foreign
entities. It has also prevented the people from exercising their
property rights as guaranteed under the Fourth
Amendment.
-
The
federal government has engaged in illegal wars outside of the scope
of the Constitution and, in doing so, has deprived the people of
their right to life and caused a massive amount of their wealth and
property to be taken from them.
-
The
federal government has engaged in unfair and unscrupulous trade
agreements with foreign countries that have adversely effected
American businesses and deprived the people of their wealth and
property.
-
The
federal government has taken the people’s wealth through taxation
and given it to others keeping the people from life, liberty, and
the pursuit of happiness and keeping them from controlling and
spending their property as they see fit.
-
The
federal government has illegally amassed massive debts in the
people’s name and spent the money on unauthorized activities
pursuant to the Constitution and, which has had the effect of
keeping the people from life, liberty, and the pursuit of
happiness.
-
The
federal government has failed to protect the people’s right against
unreasonable search and seizure as guaranteed by the Fourth
Amendment.
The federal government is obviously in default of its
contract with the states and the people and the states in which the
people reside are due restitution. They have every right and a duty
to seek redress on behalf of the people. The sooner this is done,
the sooner we will begin to move back towards a Constitutional
Republic and the sooner our problems will be gin to
dissipate.
