We
have, in succession, elected a new Congress and a new President to
no avail. The policies and agendas that we have been so
overwhelmingly against for over six years are not only still in
place, but they are being proliferated and expanded. It has become
very clear that our public servants, instead of representing their
constituents, serve someone else’s agenda.
We
elected a new Congress to end the war in Iraq and they did not do
it. Instead, they made excuses as they continued to allocate the
money. To add insult to injury, with each war-funding bill, they
attached allocations for pet projects to try to distract their
constituents or for personal gain. Legislators like Pelosi,
Feinstein, Menendez, and Reid even tried to trade war funding for
amnesty for illegal aliens or, in the case of Menendez, 500,000 more
H-1B visas. While our soldiers were dying for their country, these
people were trying to give our nation away. Then we elected Obama,
in large part because he promised to end the war in six months, and
we increased Congresses power. The promise turned to sixteen months
and then to twenty-three with 50,000 of our children being left
permanently in Iraq in “security” and “advisory” positions. Then, to
top things off, 30,000 more troops were scheduled to be sent to
Afghanistan and that number may grow to 50,000. The wars are not
ending. They are being sustained.
American
citizens have made it very clear that they do not want to award
amnesty to the illegal aliens that have broken our laws and taxed
our social infrastructure. We do not want illegal alien immigration
reform, but this continues to be on the top of the list for House
and Senate leaders to get passed. Not only do they continue to try
to pass this legislation against our wishes, but they have
intentionally failed to implement E-verify with an ill-advised stimulus bill that
would insure that taxpayer funds are not used to provide jobs for
immigration law violators.
Over
90% of the population did not want to loan its money to banks that
had proven that they couldn’t manage it and we let the existing
Congress, which was much the same as the current Congress, know
this. Congress ignored us and passed TARP legislation anyway only to
have the money horded by the banks, passed out as bonuses, or used
to buy failing banks for pennies on the dollar while stockholders
lost their holdings and the population lost its retirement funds.
Instead of slowing, foreclosures and job losses increased. After the
election, instead of stopping the madness, TARP Reform was
implemented and more of our money was given to the same failed banks
as new records for foreclosures and job losses were set. Billions of
taxpayer dollars are being sent offshore to foreign interests and
outside of the jurisdiction of Congress. Now, the Treasury has
announced that it intends to buy $1.2 trillion worth of worthless
securities to relief the banks of more or their mismanagement. As
advisor Larry Summers states that we have to pay the AIG bonuses
because we are a nation of laws and the government cannot abrogate
contracts, he ignores the laws and contracts with the people that
were abrogated in the Constitution in order to loan money to AIG and
the banks. The nation’s currency is being destroyed on behalf of
private enterprise.
We
have also made it very clear that we want the federal government to
be smaller and less intrusive in our lives. Instead, new
bureaucracies are being added as the government assumes control of
our medical treatments, more people are added to serve unnecessary,
destructive
broadband and green energy
initiatives, and small business killing legislation is passed in
toy
manufacturing and farming.
Instead
of taking the change in government that we have made as a warning,
legislators and our new President have misunderstood it to be an
award of carte blanc so that they can continue their destruction
unopposed. We have to make another change and the change we need in
order to return our country to its prosperity and greatness is not
going to come from the existing batch of public servants who have
assumed the role of rulers. Freedom is the source of our success and
we have to elect people who
will give it back to us.
