Health is a neccessity just like food
and water. You can get by without it for a while, but you usually
perish and in order to live your life fully, you have to be healthy.
While we have had many medical break throughs to cure our diseases,
we have also created things like pollution and bad foods that tend
to offset our advancement. We all need to avoid the bad things in
order to take full advantage of the good things and live our
lives completely.
It's cheaper and easier to stay healthy
than it is to get well. If you eat moderately, exercise, and
get enough rest, your body will stay well if you also don't
take in too many toxins. This basically means that you should
avoid sugar, salt, alcohol, and fat. Companies started adding high
fructose corn syrup to the America diet in the early 70s. It's now
in most sweet things that we eat. This unnatural sweetener has
resulted in a substantial increase in diabetes. When you drink
carbonated beverages, you are drinking carbon dioxide, which is one
of the body's waste products. It puts a lot of uneeded stress on
your digestive system and consuming human waste is never a very good
idea. A list of everything that is sold and bad for you would almost
be endless and it's impossible to avoid them all. You can,
however, be conscious of what you are eating and
drinking and substantially reduce your intake.
Most people have a head, two arms and
two legs, but beyond that, everyone is substantially different.
Because of physical diferences in organs, including the brain and
other parts of the body like bone structure, people produce, use,
need, and elminate chemicals and waste in different amounts. The
same diet may be good for one person but harmful to another.
There are books available, with titles like "Individual Diets" or
"Your personal Diet", for purchase or reading at the library. You
should read a few of these to be able to get an idea of what is good
for you personally. If you feel uncomfortable after eating a
particular food, it probably isn't good for you. Oranges aren't good
for everyone.
In order to stay healthy, you also need
to pay attention to your environment and the way you exercise. Dust
can coat the inside of your lungs and, while your lungs have
anti-biodies to clear dust particles, your oxygen intake can be
substantially reduced. Your exercise should not exercise only one
side of your body and it should also not cause a lot of pressure.
Things like swimming exercise all of your body equally. Walking
while you play golf is much better than hitting 200 balls at the
driving range.
The idea is that if you pay now by
eliminating or cutting down on some of the things you really like,
you will avoid having to pay much more later.
